This is a component of the Butt Fusion Welding Machine, referred to as ‘hydraulic quick couplings.’ It is used to connect the basic frame and the hydraulic station. As shown in the photo, our colleague is connecting the frame with the quick couplings. Its working mechanism involves using hydraulic oil to push the unfixed rings closer together.

The black part is the hydraulic oil cylinder. The hydraulic station passes oil through the two black pipes to the end of the quick coupling, and the quick coupling then conveys the oil to the basic frame.

The hydraulic pump draws hydraulic oil from the reservoir and delivers it into the system through mechanical drive. This process generates high-pressure hydraulic oil. The high-pressure hydraulic oil, driven by hydraulic joints on the machine frame, causes the movement of the frame ring through hydraulic pipelines, thereby closing the ends of the fittings.
